This pair takes me back to growing up in the hill country outside of New Braunfels, TX. My dad trained horses and homeschooled me growing up, and we’d spend our lunch breaks out riding some times. We had tons of prickly pair cactus out on the ranch - and I remember my dad telling me stories about getting bucked off in the cactus and it not being too fun. 🙃
The yellow rose reference goes out to my grandmother - she always requested me to play the “Yellow rose of Texas” on my fiddle at any family get together or party!
